Well, be stuck no more! Two great literary events are gracing the coming evenings. First up is Rubix, a spoken word night from one of the Roundhouse’s poetry collectives. Then, from the publisher and live literature powerhouse Penned in the Margins, a night of acts in response to the August Riots.

Rubix: In the Hub
The Roundhouse recently put together two poetry collectives, Rubix and Elephant. Tomorrow night (Friday 18th) they showcase some of their oustanding talent. The night promises spoken word, live music, cabaret and some pretty amazing special guests.
Penned in the Margins put out a call for performances written in response to the August riots. Over the last month or so, they’ve been working together with the artists and theatre director, Russell Bender, devising and producing the shows, getting them ready for Saturday night. Richmix this hosting the spectacular evening of innovative performance. On the bill is a modern retelling of the Icarus myth, a story of a bickering couple in the destruction of a futuristic shopping mall, an audience led Score for a Riot and the legendary Luke Wright, performing a monologue jumping between the riots and the Peasants’ Revolt of 1381.
